CWRU Alpha Phi
Zeta Pi Chapter
WHAT IS PHILANTHROPY?
/fəˈlanTHrəpē/ - goodwill to fellow members of the human race
When directly translated, philanthropy's meaning is simple - the love of mankind.
There is power in numbers and there is power in time given to those who need it
Learn how our chapter takes this meaning to heart to empower women through the power of philanthropy.
A Message from Our
Director of Philanthropy
Alpha Phi chapters around the world support the Alpha Phi Foundation, which is dedicated to advancing women's lives through philanthropy. The foundation most notably promotes programs and research for women's heart disease with its annual Heart to Heart Grant. Undergraduate and graduate scholarships are provided to Alpha Phis by the foundation in order to further their education -- several Zeta Pi members have won these awards in the past.
Zeta Pi locally supports Cleveland Clinic, which has a Women's Cardiovascular Center and has been ranked as the #1 hospital in the US for cardiology for the past 24 years in a row. In 2005, Cleveland Clinic received the Alpha Phi Foundation's Heart to Heart Grant.
Our chapter hosts two annual events (one in the fall and one in the spring) in support of our philanthropic causes. We also have smaller events, like Empowerment Roundtable and Mac n Phis, that help raise awareness along with money for our philanthropy as well. These events offer our chapter an opportunity to involve the CWRU and Cleveland communities in women's heart health and empowerment.
My sisters have an incredible dedication to philanthropy and service, both within our chapter and beyond. Their passion for women's heart health and empowerment is admirable. I am so proud to be the Director of Philanthropy for the Zeta Pi chapter of Alpha Phi at Case Western Reserve University.
