A Message from Our
Director of Academics

With Scholarship as one of Alpha Phi’s core values, creating academic programming which supports our sisters to excel in and out of the classroom is vital to our chapter. It is important that we celebrate each other's scholarly achievements, as that encourages us to further our academic endeavors and pursue new opportunities. We currently recognize our sisters accomplishments through our Ivy Vine Challenge, which allows us to see our members scholarly growth, and through our Sister of the Week announcements every week at chapter, where we share our academic, leadership, and career successes with one another. This semester we are implementing a stronger academic support system through a major-focused mentor/mentee program and through help groups for the different schools on campus. Additionally, so that our members are fully aware of scholarship opportunities on campus, we are creating a spreadsheet of various events and academic resources. Each semester we also hold a banquet dedicated to recognizing our chapter’s scholastic achievements, beyond those solely based on GPA, and engage in purposeful discussions and activities. At the heart of all these programs is Alpha Phi’s mission of empowering young women, and we believe that fostering confidence through scholarship is essential in helping our sisters navigate their careers and become leaders.
